Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are interested in signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Graham Potter’s Chelsea in the final two days of the January transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.
Newcastle United linked with Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek
The report has claimed that Newcastle are ‘very keen’ on bringing Chelsea midfielder Loftus-Cheek to St. James’ Park on a loan deal.
However, the Magpies are ‘unsure’ on whether the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners will let the £150,000-a-week (SalarySport) 27-year-old English midfielder leve on loan.
Newcastle should bid
In our view, if Newcastle United are really keen on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, then they should make an offer to Chelsea.
Now.
Time is running out.

The only way that Newcastle will know for sure if Chelsea are willing to let the midfielder leave on loan if they ask them.
And, if Newcastle manager Eddie Howe really thinks that the 27-year-old is going to make his team better and enhance their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season and improve them in the coming years, then they should perhaps even make a bid for a permanent deal.
What’s the worst thing that could happen?
Chelsea could say ‘no’, and Newcastle could then just move on.
