Inter Milan have reportedly reduced their asking price for right-back Denzel Dumfries, with the defender expected to leave the San Siro in the summer amid interest in January from Newcastle United.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Premier League clubs continue to monitor the Dutch international after Dumfries was heavily linked with a away from Inter in the winter transfer window, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that Newcastle are one of the sides chasing the fullback.
Romano said about the chances of Dumfries leaving Inter in the summer for England: “Premier League clubs are following Denzel Dumfries but Inter turned down all the approaches in January. In the summer the situation could change but they want at least €40m (£34m) to sell Dumfries.”
With the former PSV Eindhoven star being valued as highly as €60m (£53m) as reported by Inter Live, this update will come as a big sigh of relief for the likes of Newcastle, who could be interested in signing more competition at right-back for Kieran Trippier.

Despite their vast wealth from their PIF owners, Newcastle were one of the quietest sides in the January transfer window as Eddie Howe opted to not significantly improve his first-team squad despite the prospect of a top-four finish this season, with Dumfries one of the many players linked to St. James Park.
Indeed, Dumfries is regarded as one of the most entertaining fullbacks to watch in world football, and with Inter now reducing their asking price for the defender to leave in the summer, Newcastle could make an attempt to bring the Netherlands superstar to the Premier League.
Dumfries could realistically leave Inter for Newcastle this summer

A European finish feels almost certain for Newcastle this season, and with it will likely come a huge summer splurge on players to bulk out the rest of the squad, with the Magpies’ options beyond the best starting XI rather thin, to say the least.
Which is why Dumfries could be a realistic target for Newcastle in the summer should the defender decide to leave Inter, with Trippier in need of quality competition and Howe looking for that insurance option should the England international pick up an injury in the new season.
