Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are ready to make a bid for Tottenham Hotspur target and Everton winger Anthony Gordon in the final days of the January transfer window, according to The Mail on Sunday (22/1; page 109).

The report has claimed that Newcastle plan to make an offer to Premier League rivals Everton for Gordon this week.

Tottenham are also reported to be keeping tabs on the situation of the 21-year-old England Under-21 international winger.

Could Newcastle United sign Tottenham target Anthony Gordon from Everton?

In our view, Newcastle United could be able to sign Anthony Gordon ahead of Tottenham Hotspur from Everton in the January transfer window.

That Newcastle are reportedly planning to bid for the winger this week shows that they are very serious about him and mean business.

Tottenham are still reportedly ‘just’ monitoring the situation.

So, the Magpies are certainly more keen on Gordon than Tottenham are.

The Sun reported over the weekend that Everton could sell the winger to Newcastle or Tottenham in the January transfer window.

According to 90min, the Toffees are open to cashing in on the Gordon in the middle of the season despite the genuine threat of relegation to the Championship at the end of the campaign.

We think that if Newcastle make a good offer to Everton and Gordon, then they could get a deal done.
