AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a player Newcastle United are also rumoured to be chasing ahead of the summer.
According to the Telegraph, the Rossoneri remain admirers of the England international as Loftus-Cheek looks set to become Milan’s next British transfer target, with former Chelsea talent Fikayo Tomori one of the biggest Serie A success stories in recent memory.
With Loftus-Cheek’s £150,000-a-week contract approaching its final 18 months, Milan could be in for a bargain signing if the Italian giants can strike a deal with Chelsea, with Graham Potter expected to overhaul the majority of the Blues squad this summer.
However, Milan won’t face an easy battle to sign, with Dean Jones reporting that Newcastle are also keen to sign Loftus-Cheek this summer, a player who could offer Eddie Howe a lot of experience in the central midfielder position, something the Magpies have lacked this season.

Indeed, whilst Loftus-Cheek could be an expensive transfer based on his wages alone, the midfielder might be more than willing to drop his demands if it meant signing for a club where the 27-year-old would be a regular, something both Milan and Newcastle can offer.
With the Italian giants still interested in Loftus-Cheek, the midfielder will have quite the decision to make in the summer, and for Newcastle, they should be ensuring that they are not bested by Milan in the race to sign the Chelsea midfielder come the end of the season.
Newcastle must beat Milan to Loftus-Cheek signing

Loftus-Cheek has shone throughout the years that he has the quality to become a top-class player if he can become a regular at a club. And whilst there have been patches of this at Chelsea, the midfielder would be better off leaving for a new challenge, with Newcastle ideally beating Milan to the Englishman.
As we have seen , Howe has been excellent at developing players at Newcastle, namely Joelinton and Miguel Almiron. And Loftus-Cheek could be the next player to thrive under the Magpies boss’ coaching, even if the prospect of Milan is a tantalising one.
