Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Leicester City have seen a £30million bid rejected for Fiorentina talent Nico Gonzalez – and the Foxes will now end their pursuit of the Argentine, handing Newcastle and Tottenham a boost.
Gonzalez, 24, has starred since swapping Stuttgart for Fiorentina in the summer of 2021. Clocking up 39 games in his first season for La Viola, he had a hand in 17 goals from out wide. Eight goals, nine assists. This season, injuries hit.
It has limited the 21-time Argentina star to just 13 appearances – missing the World Cup. But in that time, he has still scored five goals. Leicester have been strongly linked with a move, as have Newcastle and Tottenham, as per 90Min.
Now, Di Marzio says Leicester have seen a £30million offer blocked by Fiorentina. The report claims that the Foxes will now pursue other targets – reducing competition for Newcastle and Tottenham, if they choose to sign the attacker.

Leicester see £30million bid rejected for Fiorentina talent Gonzalez
Gonzalez would be a wonderful signing for most Premier League clubs. A real talent that just needs a platform to go and shine. At Fiorentina, it has been a bit of a transitional period. A return to Europe, but sitting in 10th place this term.
Gonzalez is aggressive, a player with flair, a South American star that is tough but skillful. He is a real talent but needs to join a club where he is going to play, an attacking team. Leicester may have been the ideal club in the next 14 days.
At Spurs and Newcastle, you would argue that Gonzalez may struggle to start. Especially, at Spurs, given the club boast Son Heung-min, Deki Kulusevski and Richarlison on the flanks. But Spurs do need another on the right flank, like him.
