Newcastle United want Jack Harrison as they join Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the Leeds United winger this summer.

Newcastle may have been safe from relegation many weeks ago but Leeds had to wait until the final day.

A 2-1 victory away at Brentford handed Leeds survival at the expense of Burnley, who drop into the Championship.

Leeds must now strengthen their squad this summer to prevent a similar struggle next season but they may need to fend off some interest first.

Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are both wanted men and it now seems that Newcastle want to sign Harrison.

The Daily Mail report that Newcastle are interested in signing Leeds ace Harrison this summer.

Harrison was the Leeds hero on Sunday as he scored a late winner at Brentford to absolutely clinch survival.

Leeds may be focusing on keeping Raphinha and Phillips but they now face a battle to keep hold of Harrison too.

It’s stated that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle both want to sign Harrison this summer.

Newcastle are bound to be linked with a host of players this summer and another winger may well be needed.

Allan Saint-Maximin could start on one flank next season but Newcastle would need another wide man to support him on the other flank.

Harrison is one option for the Magpies after racking up eight goals in 35 games for Leeds this season.

The 25-year-old has been a consistent performer in a testing Leeds campaign and could earn himself a big move.

Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be interested though and their pursuit comes from a recommendation.

The Telegraph reported in April that Andrea Pirlo has recommended Harrison to Tottenham director Fabio Paratici.

Harrison and Pirlo played together at New York City FC in Major League Soccer before Pirlo became Juventus boss under Paratici.

It seems that Pirlo was so impressed that he has now encouraged Paratici to make a move for Harrison.

Antonio Conte would then be able to play Harrison as either a left wing back or left winger, offering competition for Son Heung-min.

That’s a major threat to Newcastle’s hopes given that Tottenham have Champions League football, but Leeds will hope to keep hold of their ‘very skilful’ winger.
