Newcastle and Tottenham fancy Alessio Romagnoli – and it’s now claimed that he has rejected a mystery Premier League offer in favour of Lazio.
Newcastle look to be in the market for another centre back this summer and have spent most of their time chasing Lille ace Sven Botman.
That deal is proving difficult and Newcastle may well chase other options to partner Dan Burn at the back.
As for Tottenham, they wanted Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni and still want a left-sided centre back with Bastoni set to stay in Italy.
It may well be that both teams look towards the same targets and they have both been linked with AC Milan’s Romagnoli.
Newcastle and Tottenham fancy Alessio Romagnoli
90Min reported late in December that Tottenham were preparing a pre-contract agreement for Milan defender Romagnoli.
That didn’t materialise but as a left-footed centre back, it may make senes that Antonio Conte fancies him as a backup target to Bastoni.
Calciomercato then claimed in March that Newcastle had made a move for Romagnoli in the hope of luring him to St James’ Park.
Romagnoli is out of contract this summer and will be very appealing as a free agent.

The 27-year-old serves as Milan captain and has racked up almost 200 Serie A appearances during spells with Roma and Milan.
Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla now claims that Romagnoli has received a contract offer from a mystery Premier League club.
Romagnoli only wants to sign for Lazio as they are his boyhood club, so he has rejected that Premier League offer.
Newcastle or Tottenham could well be the club in question given their respective struggles to sign Botman and Bastoni – two similarly left-footed defender.
No matter who made the offer, it now seems that Romagnoli won’t be playing in England next season.
