A report from the Chronicle today claims that the Magpies have been told that they will need to pay at least £12 million in order to sign City star Fabian Delph this summer.

Midfield is certainly one particular area where the Spaniard will want to strengthen, and the Daily Star claimed earlier this week that the 27-year-old City man is one of Newcastle’s primary summer targets.

That price seems like a fairly reasonable amount for Delph, who has arguably not yet reached his prime, ands already earned nine international caps for England.

His passing ability and tenacious playing style would surely prove to be a real asset to the Newcastle setup. The fact that Delph is also left-footed would add more balance to the Toon’s midfield.
The Geordies will not have things all their own way, however, in their pursuit of the Man City star, with West Brom and Stoke City also being credited with interest in the 27-year-old.
