Newcastle are reportedly nearing a deal for Chelsea’s Kenedy, in a move that could boost Everton’s January plans.

Chelsea left-back Kenedy is nearing a move to Newcastle United on loan this month, after he travelled to Tyneside to undergo a medical but could such a move benefit Premier League rivals Everton?
The 20-year-old was spotted on Tyneside as he jetted in to complete his move to Rafa Benitez’s side on a temporary basis, which sees Newcastle finally end their left-back woes with Paul Dummett’s injuries a concern.
However, Newcastle’s signing of a left-back could boost former manager Sam Allardyce and his Everton side, as the Toffees are reportedly rivalling the Toon for a Championship left-back currently at the top of his game.

Bristol City’s Joe Bryan is a £7million target for Everton, but the Daily Mirror (Monday, 16:25) claim on their transfer news blog that Newcastle and Brighton are also interested in the pocket-sized 24-year-old.
Bryan has caught the eye of a handful of Premier League clubs due to his form in both the Championship as well as the Carabao Cup this season, scoring against Crystal Palace and Manchester United in the Robins’ run to the semi-finals.
However, Newcastle’s interest in Bryan could deteriorate with the Toon signing Kenedy, and that may allow Everton to move into pole position to land the former Plymouth ace.

Benitez is hardly swimming in funds to spend on players, and he needs to reserve as much as he can to spend on other areas of the squad that need improving – a new goalkeeper, striker and an attacking midfielder will be on his shortlist.
Signing a left-back on loan and then splashing out £7million on a competitor for the same role is a waste of money and as good as Bryan is, the Toon’s interest will surely diminish.
That is likely to put Everton in pole position, with the Toffees a much more attractive option than a relegation fight with Brighton. It means that by selling Kenedy to Newcastle, Chelsea may have boosted Everton’s transfer cause.
