James Maddison has been linked with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United reportedly believe that they could persuade the Leicester City playmaker to make the move to St. James’ Park in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle think they could sign Arsenal and Liverpool target James Maddison

According to iNews, Newcastle are interested in signing Maddison from Leicester and also have interest in West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

The report has claimed that Maddison is a more realistic target than Rice.

Newcastle genuinely believe that they could persuade the Englishman to join them, according to the report.

Quite a signing, if it happens

And if Newcastle do that, then we believe that it could be quite a coup.

Maddison is one of the best attacking midfielders around and has Liverpool and Arsenal after him.

90Min have reported that Liverpool have already made contact with Maddison’s representatives.

The report has claimed that Maddison could be sold for £50 million.

It was 90min who reported in February that Arsenal are monitoring the playmaker, described as “perfect” by talkSPORT pundit and Rangers legend Ally McCoist in March.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Maddison.

Maddison is 26 now and is about to hit his peak.

The Englishman is at the right age to take the next step in his career and make the move to Newcastle.

The Magpies are likely to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

And we believe that Maddison would be a good acquisition for Eddie Howe’s side.

The Leicester no. 10 has scored nine goals and given eight assists in 25 Premier League starts this season.

Maddison scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in 28 league starts last season.
