Newcastle United are in the market for new signings on deadline day, and a new midfielder appears to be on the radar.
Lukas Lerager and Hamza Choudhury are just a couple of the names being linked with Newcastle, but the Magpies could look north of the border.
Sky Sports claim that Newcastle have asked about taking Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham on loan until the end of the season.
Celtic want an option to buy included in the move, seemingly hoping to sell him in the summer given that he has just 18 months left on his contract.
Ntcham has only started seven league games this season, bagging just open goal and one assist in a rather frustrating campaign.
The 24-year-old clearly has quality on the ball, but may need a fresh start having faded out of Celtic’s plans, and Newcastle could offer him exactly that.

One interesting note is that Newcastle already have history with Ntcham’s representation, the Unique Sports Management agency.
They also represent a staggering five other Magpies players; Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Jamaal Lascelles, Dwight Gayle and summer signing Callum Wilson.
Newcastle are running out of time to get a deal done for Ntcham, but that relationship with the Frenchman’s agency may just help them push through a last-gasp deal today.
