Richard Keys has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the twist in the Newcastle United takeover saga tonight.
What happened?
Newcastle have released a statement on their official Twitter page regarding the long-running takeover saga.
The club have said that the “main hearing of the arbitration in the case” between Newcastle and the Premier League has now been “adjourned until early 2022”.
This is because of issues with the “disclosure of evidence”.
What Richard Keys thinks
Former Sky Sports presenter Keys, now at beIN SPORTS, has given his take on Twitter on the latest update, as you can see below.
Disappointing for Newcastle fans
Newcastle’s statement tonight will be massively disappointing for the fans.
The St James’ Park faithful have long wanted the proposed takeover by financier Amanda Staveley’s firm PCP Capital Partners and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund to go through.

The fans would have been hoping that Newcastle’s arbitration proceedings against the Premier League over last year’s aborted takeover bid get resolved before the start of the new season.
However, it seems that it is not to be.
Mike Ashley will remain the Newcastle owner – for a few more months at least.
There is nothing much that Newcastle fans can do now.
Hopefully when the season starts, the players will give the fans something to cheer about by playing good football and winning matches.
