Newcastle celebrate winning the league with the trophy
Newcastle United clinched promotion to the Premier League as champions yesterday thanks to Brighton’s late slip up.
Yet with 94 points secured of their own, there was no luck involved in terms of clinching promotion itself.
The club’s players will have sore heads this morning after a night of celebration, but before that all kicked off, unlucky winger Roland Aarons had a message to send to supporters.

Newcastle United’s Rolando Aarons is down injured before being substituted off
Aarons managed only four appearances this season in the Championship before getting injured, of which three came as a substitute.
He is still only 21, but his career has been held back by a succession of injuries.
In the last three seasons he has played only 18 league games, which include four starts.
A full season in the Championship would have prepared him well for next season’s Premier League adventure, and establishing himself in the first team is going to be tough.
