Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes sends three-word message to Alan Shearer

Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is certainly endearing his new side’s fans on social media – and he has not sent a three-word message to Alan Shearer. It comes after Shearer initially Tweeted about Bruno.

The 24-year-old was one of five signings made by Newcastle in the January transfer window. A fee, believed to be in the region of £40million, has been paid to Lyon for the services of the Brazil international.

He could make his debut for the Toon on Tuesday evening as Newcastle take on fellow strugglers Everton – who now have Frank Lampard in charge. The excitement regarding Bruno is certainly high among fans.

While the likes of Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Matty Targett are seen as additions that immediately help the Toon – Bruno is more of a long-term project addition. Shearer responded, as Bruno was unveiled.

Bruno message to Shearer: Brazilian already a Newcastle favourite

Fans will be eagerly awaiting Tuesday night’s team selection, and whether Bruno will be starting in midfield. Targett is expected to start, while Burn picked up a knock in training and time will tell if he does feature.

But Bruno is already the darling of Newcastle fans, with numerous Tweets and Instagram posts to underline his delight at moving to Tyneside. Bruno only linked up with the squad last Friday, after playing for Brazil.

He responded to Shearer’s Tweet with a three-word message, thanking the Newcastle legend for his warm reception.
