He scored two late goals to help Newcastle to a dramatic victory over Everton.
Newcastle were 2-1 down in the 81st minute before Perez scored twice in four minutes to deliver a 3-2 win.
Perez’s performances were lauded, with none other than Newcastle hero Alan Shearer naming him in his team of the week.
Perez sent a message out last night expressing how great it felt to see Shearer acknowledge his efforts.
Shearer was quick to reply, telling Perez he deserved it, much to his delight.
Perez now has seven goals for the season, a figure only topped by one teammate, Salomon Rondon.
They are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Bournemouth.
