Loic Remy was excellent for Newcastle during his short Tyneside spell.

French striker Loic Remy has finally got his career back on track after a couple of disappointing season with a decent 2017-18 campaign at La Liga side Getafe – on loan from Las Palmas – and Newcastle should keep their eye on their former star.
A 31-time France international, Remy’s move to Chelsea back in August 2014 from QPR saw him go from first-team regular to bit-part players – something that simply did not suit the powerful striker.

He managed just three goals in 2015-16, before going on loan to Crystal Palace for the 2016-17 campaign where he failed to score a single goal as injuries limited the striker to eight appearances.

He moves to Las Palmas last summer and he scored six goals in 13 games, before being loaned to Getafe in January where he continued his resurgence with three goals in 11 outings – starting just six of those appearances.
Now returning to Las Palmas, Remy is expected to be looking for another move as the Spanish side finished 19th and were relegated to the second tier of Spanish football.

With his goalscoring touch back, Newcastle should consider luring Remy back to St. James’ Park as Rafa Benitez continues to be on the lookout for a new striker.
Islam Slimani failed last term, as did Joselu, while Dwight Gayle has been linked with a move away from Tyneside. Newcastle desperately need a striker and Remy is still thought of highly following his 2013-14 loan to The Toon.
He scored 14 goals in just 27 league and cup encounters for Newcastle during that season, and Benitez would surely delight fans if he brought Remy back. A must-buy this summer.
