Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have been shocked after learning how much Aston Villa are asking for Arsenal target Carney Chukwuemeka, according to talkSPORT.
Newcastle and Arsenal want Carney Chukwuemeka of Aston Villa
Earlier this month, 90min reported that Arsenal, Newcastle, Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in signing Chukwuemeka from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old midfielder has one more year left on his current contract at Villa, and he is not planning on putting pen to paper on a new deal, according to the report.
‘Shock’
TalkSPORT have reported that Villa want £20 million for the teenage midfielder, and that this has ‘come as a shock ‘ to Newcastle and Manchester City.

Too expensive
In our view, £20 million for Carney Chukwuemeka is too expensive, and we do not think that Arsenal or Newcastle United should pay that kind of money for the Aston Villa teenager.
As things stand, the youngster will be available for a relatively modest compensation fee next summer.
Described as “outstanding” by former Arsenal and Aston Villa star Paul Merson in BirminghamLive in August 2021, Chukwuemeka is a talented and promising young player for the future who is unlikely to get straight into the Arsenal or the Newcastle starting lineup right now.
It’s not that the Gunners or the Magpies are in desperate need of the teenager right now.
