Newcastle United are reportedly one of three clubs battling to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma – a player that once spoke of his admiration for Toon assistant manager Jason Tindall, after working under him at Bournemouth.
Following Eddie Howe’s exit from Bournemouth, Tindall replaced Howe as manager. Jonathan Woodgate eventually came in but Tindall managed the club as manager for 31 matches. Plenty of that was with Danjuma at the Vitality.
After a season in the Championship and only two years at the Cherries, he left for Villarreal. Since then, the Netherlands ace has been in stunning form – netting 19 goals in 41 games. It has seen him since earn six caps for his country.
CMW claim that Newcastle, Milan and Chelsea are interested in signing Danjuma – for a fee of £35million. Back in 2020, Danjuma once heaped praise on his then-manager and now Newcastle assistant Tindall. It might help the Toon.
“I really wanted to work here with manager Eddie Howe,” he told Algemeen Dagblad in 2020. “He’s gone now. But I have to say that the new Bournemouth staff with manager Jason Tindall is the best staff I’ve ever worked with.”

Danjuma would be a wonderful signing, but it would be harsh on Miguel Almiron. The Paraguay international has been in superb form – scoring five goals in 11 Premier League games. He scored the winner against Everton on Wednesday.
But Danjuma instantly improves a Newcastle side that already boasts the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak in attack. The interest may arise from Isak being sidelined until the new year with an injury.
Danjuma is not only an excellent attacker with a proven goalscoring record in both the Champions League, and La Liga. But he is an attacker that can play anywhere across the front three. For £35million, he is a bargain.
