Premier League outfit Newcastle United want the Boca Juniors star Nahitan Nandez.

Newcastle have joined the chase for Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez, renewing their interest in a player they tried and failed to sign last year, according to Calciomercato.
A tigerish and combative central midfielder, Nandez is a typically Uruguayan kind of player and anyone who watched them in last summer’s World Cup will know exactly what that means.
‘Garra’ spirit is alive and well in the Boca Juniors star, who formed a formidable and hard-working partnership with Arsenal enforcer Lucas Torreira as the South American nation battled their way to the quarter-finals.
And Nandez could now bring his blend of technique and tenacity to England with Calciomercato reporting that both Leeds and Newcastle are keen to sign a player who has his fair share of suitors in Italy too.

Continental (Closs AM, 26 July, 6am), reported last summer that Newcastle made an enquiry about Nandez and were told he would cost £12 million. These days, Boca are demanding £18 million, though that fee is still less than his release clause.
An £18 million fee would see Nandez become the second most expensive fee in their history, behind January recruit Miguel Almiron.
