Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United reportedly want NK Lokomotiva attacking midfielder Lovro Majer in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United have made an offer for NK Lokomotiva attacking midfielder Lovro Majer, according to Calciomercato.it.

It has been reported that Newcastle are trying to hijack Sampdoria’s deal for Majer and have offered more money than the Italian club.

The Magpies are ready to pay €11.5 million (£10.06m) in transfer fees to Lokomotiva and €1.1m (£1.31m) per year as salary to Majer, according to the report.

Late twist?

It seems that Newcastle are determined to secure the services of Majer, and their (reported) better offer could see them appear more attractive to Lokomotiva and to the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.

However, could there be another twist, given (reported) interest from Premier League champions Manchester City and Scottish Premiership giants Celtic?

Last month, The Sun claimed that City manager Pep Guardiola is ready to make a move for the Croatia international in an £8 million deal.

The British tabloid also reported that Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have tracked the youngster, and maybe City and the Hoops could make bids soon.
