According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle United are interested in signing Patrik Schick from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Roma are ready to sell Schick for £24 million in the summer transfer window or sanction a loan move for the 2020-21 campaign.

The report has added that Newcastle want to sign the 6ft 2in striker irrespective of whether the proposed takeover by Saudi Arabia’s PIF goes through and have been alerted to his availability.

The 24-year-old forward joined RB Leipzig on loan from Roma in the summer of 2019.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Schick has made 14 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Leipzig so far this season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in the process.

The Czech Republic international forward made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League for the German club this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Less expensive than Joelinton

Newcastle signed Joelinton in the summer of 2019, with The Guardian reporting that the Magpies paid Hoffenheim a transfer fee of £40 million.

The 23-year-old Brazilian striker has struggled at the Magpies, scoring just one goal and providing two assists in 29 league games, according to WhoScored.
