Newcastle United have made it known that they plan to pay £10 million more than Real Madrid for Kalidou Koulibaly, that is according to Area Napoli.

Newcastle are said to be interested in Koulibaly, as their new owners line up ambitious targets for their first transfer window in charge.

And the Magpies are now believed to be willing to blow their rivals out the water in the race to sign the centre-back.

Real Madrid are keen to land Koulibaly, but Newcastle have already said they will beat their offer and told Napoli of their interest, according to the latest reports.

“Newcastle have made it known to Napoli they plan to offer ten million more than Real Madrid.

“Newcastle made a clear speech to Aurelio De Laurentiis: the English club is willing to improve Real Madrid’s offer for Koulibaly by ten million euros,” Italian football journalist Fabio Santini told Area Napoli.

If Koulibaly was to join Newcastle he would be a eye-catching addition and raise the quality of their squad significantly.

Newcastle are already blessed with good quality options in central defence, but Koulibaly would take them to another level.

The £90 million (El Desmarque) Senegalese international is regarded as one of the very best defenders in world football, and would immediately highlight the Magpies ambition under their potential new owners.
