Newcastle and Rangers are reportedly interested in Queens Park Rangers star Lyndon Dykes, with three other clubs keen on the Championship attacker.
According to TeamTalk, the Toon and Scottish giants are two of five teams keen on signing the Scottish international, with Crystal Palace, Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth also interested in Dykes.
The 26-year-old forward has been one of the most consistent goalscorers in the Championship in recent seasons. The Australian-born attacker currently has six goals in 18 appearances for the R’s, and Dykes’ form has seemingly caught the eye of Newcastle and Rangers.
Indeed, both sides are in the market for an attacker this January. Yet Newcastle’s needs for a striker could be much greater than Rangers’, with Eddie Howe’s side recently losing Callum Wilson to a calf injury that will keep the England international out for eight weeks.
With the Athletic also reporting that Newcastle are being pushed by their owners to sign a striker as early as this week, there is a chance that Dykes could be an option for the northeast Premier League club.
Dykes could be a solid addition for Newcastle this month

Lauded as ‘dangerous’ by Steven Gerrard as per the Daily Record, Dykes is a player who has proved his talents in both the Scottish Premiership and the Championship.
And a move to the Premier League with Newcastle could be a logical move for the attacker.
A full international with Scotland, Dykes will be joining a club where his qualities will be needed. Goals are a rare currency for Newcastle, and the 26-year-old could provide them if Howe can work the system around the QPR star.
