Newcastle United’s quest to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur is now in ‘severe doubt’, according to Eurosport.
What’s the story?
Eurosport are reporting that Newcastle are interested in signing Alli from Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Newcastle are reportedly planning to invest around £50 million in the January transfer window.
However, many Premier League clubs do not want to do business with Newcastle.
Why?
Well, according to the report, ‘there is a general feeling of ill-will about their takeover – and also the harm they could inflict on their own clubs by helping Newcastle avoid relegation this season’.
This means that a deal for Alli is ‘suddenly in severe doubt before any progress has been made’.
That’s according to Eurosport.

Dele Alli to Newcastle is unlikely in January
In our view, Alli is unlikely to join Newcastle from Spurs in the January transfer window.
Maybe the 25-year-old England international could make the switch in the summer of 2022.
However, we do not think that new Spurs manager Antonio Conte will offload the midfielder now.
After all, Conte has only just taken over at Tottenham.
The former Chelsea manager rates Alli highly, telling Football.London this month that the Spurs midfielder “has great potential, physically he is strong and he is very good”.
Alli himself may not be keen on moving to a team who are in danger of getting relegated.
