As Newcastle United aim to bounce back from their Carabao Cup final defeat against Man City, we have tried to call their predicted lineup.

After suffering a devastating loss to Manchester United, we expect Eddie Howe to tinker his side to an extent against Pep Guardiola’s troops, making as many as 3 changes to the side that lined up at Wembley.

Nick Pope looks set to return to our Newcastle predicted lineup against Man City, despite Loris Karius covering himself in glory last Sunday.

At right-back, Kieran Trippier, who Alan Shearer called ‘England’s best full-back’ at one point scored a sumptuous free-kick in the reverse fixture last time around is expected to keep his place in the XI.

The centre-backs that featured against Erik ten Hag’s side in Fabian Schar and Sven Botman have built an unbreakable partnership at the back and are likely to start once again.

The same goes for Dan Burn at left-back, who is dead set to start in our Newcastle predicted lineup against Man City.

Bruno Guimaraes, who is reported to have opened new contract talks with Eddie Howe’s side also looks likely to retain his place in the team after his excellent display against the Red Devils.

Sean Longstaff seems guaranteed to accompany him in the middle of the park after what has been an impressive campaign for him at St. James’ Park.

Joelinton will likely comprise the Newcastle midfield trio in our predicted lineup to square up against Man City on Saturday.

Miguel Almiron was one of the Magpies players called out by Dean Saunders for putting in a forgettable display against Manchester United could be replaced by Anthony Gordon, who is tested on the right wing.

It is up front where we foresee another change, with the out-of-sorts Callum Wilson being replaced by the ‘mind-blowing’ Alexander Isak, who is seen as the club’s coaching staff as a No.9 anyway instead of perhaps as a second striker or out wide.

On the left wing, Allan Saint-Maximin is set to start, as he tormented Kyle Walker in these two sides’ previous match-up all evening.
