Newcastle United will reportedly give their players time off after the draw at Crystal Palace.
The Chronicle has reported that Newcastle United players will be given time off by the club’s manager John Carver due to the FA Cup schedule this weekend.
Newcastle now don’t play until next Saturday against Manchester City and the boss has urged his players to rest.
For the players is a good chance to get away and look at their performances in recent matches and assess things before they head back into training ahead of the City game.
It’s also a chance for the manager to assess any weaknesses he sees in his squad such as the fact they have conceded an equaliser after being ahead in their last two games.
It’s also a good chance for Carver to take a closer look at individual performances and assess where some fresh legs could be useful coming into the team. He may have one or two questions over key positions such as his defence.
It’s also a chance for the boss to talk to certain players to work through any questions or issues they may have.
A good example s Remy Cabella who has been subbed in the club’s last two games after starts, though the move last night was nothing more than a defensive switch by the boss.
Newcastle are well placed to break into the top half of the Premier League, aiming for the top eight with the possibility of a shot in Europe by the end of the season.
