The Newcastle United youngster looks set to continue his development away from St. James’ Park.

According to a report from the Chronicle, Newcastle United are preparing to send midfielder Sean Longstaff out on loan this summer with four clubs interested in bringing him in ahead of the new campaign.

The 19-year-old has made a habit of scoring for the Magpies’ under-23 side and it is now being claimed that they have a plan for his long-term development, with clubs in both England and Scotland keeping a close eye on the situation.

Longstaff spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock, and now they are keen to bring him back while Bury, Fleetwood and Blackpool have also thrown their names into the proverbial hat.

The teenager scored three goals in 17 appearances for the Scottish club after arriving in January and it will be interesting to see where Newcastle opt to send him this summer.

Longstaff is widely regarded as one of the Magpies’ most talented youth products and in time he is expected to break into Rafa Benitez’s first-team.

If he enjoys another solid loan spell next season and continues on his current trajectory, it will surely only be a matter of time before he is knocking on the manager’s door.
