Newcastle United-owned Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has admitted to Sky Sports that he is unsure of his future.

Mitrovic joined Championship club Fulham on loan from Premier League side Newcastle in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker failed to impress Magpies’ manager Rafael Benitez, but the Serbia international has been superb for the Cottagers.

The youngster has scored 12 goals and provided one assist in 17 Championship starts for Fulham, who have reached the playoff final this season.

Mitrovic has admitted that he does not know where he will be next season.

“I don’t think about the future,” Mitrovic told Sky Sports. “I’ve loved my time here and I don’t know what will happen after. Right now I’m just focused on Saturday and then the World Cup.”

Fulham stay or Newcastle United return?

Mitrovic does not seem to be rated too highly by Newcastle manager Benitez, and it is hard to see the Serbia international remain at the Magpies next season.

If Fulham do get promoted to the Premier League, then it would make sense for the London club to secure the services of the Serbian striker on a permanent contract.

Mitrovic, who earns £60,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com, has been on the books of Newcastle since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Anderlecht for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £13 million.
