Newcastle now interested in £34m star who flopped massively at Everton

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Juventus attacker and Everton loanee Moise Kean, with the Italian international set to leave Goodison Park for good in 2023.

According to Juve Dipendenza, the Magpies have been impressed with the 22-year-old’s form this season in Turin, with Kean bagging five goals in all competitions for Juventus with the youngster only making five league starts under Massimiliano Allegri this campaign.

Playing just 594 minutes all season, Kean has done well with the little time given to him on the pitch as the attacker looks to win a permanent move to Juventus next summer, with the Old Lady currently obligated, according to CalcioMercato, to sign the youngster for £34m in 2023 at the end of his two-year loan spell from Everton.

However, there is every chance that the terms of this deal can change, in large part due to Juventus’ crippling financial situation which means the Serie A giants have to sell before they can buy. Meaning, Newcastle could stand a good chance at signing Kean.

Indeed, Kean is regarded by many Everton fans as one of their worst signings in recent years, with the former Italian wonderkid joining the club in 2019 from Juventus to great fanfare before only going on to score just four goals in 39 appearances for the Toffees.

With Kean now impressing back in Turin with Juventus and having an incredible loan spell with PSG that saw the Italian bag 17 goals in all competitions, the forward has been nothing short of a flop for Everton, and Newcastle should be wary of signing the 22-year-old despite his good form this campaign.

Newcastle signing Kean would be a big risk

Newcastle’s signings under the PIF regime have been nothing short of inspiring, with the Magpies landing hit after hit in the market that looks to be showing no signs of slowing down just yet. However, Kean would feel like a break from tradition given how risky the Italian could be.

There’s no denying the forward’s talents or his potential. But, after what we have already seen from the attacker at Everton, Newcastle and the player himself might be better off putting a move on the shelf given how poorly Kean has performed in England in recent years.
