One player linked with a Premier League move is Nantes hitman Emiliano Sala, with The Sunday People (print edition, page 49, Sunday, November 18, 2018) reporting that Crystal Palace, Everton, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing £15million-valued Sala.
Earlier this year, Foot-Sur reported that Newcastle were rivalling Brighton and Hove Albion for Sala’s signature – and they must return for his signature now that he’s in red-hot form.
The Argentinian has hit 13 goals in 14 games this season, becoming one of the most dangerous strikers in French football having starred for Nantes this term.
A physical target man with great aerial ability – the type of striker Benitez loves – Sala may be 28, but if Newcastle wanted him earlier this year, then they should certainly be looking to swoop in and beat Everton and other club to his signature.
Sala would most likely play more regularly for Newcastle than with the likes of Everton or West Ham, and Benitez must be plotting a move to sign Sala as a solution to Newcastle’s goalscoring problems in 2019.
