Ander Herrera could reportedly be available for as little as £3 million in January, so Newcastle United must consider a move.

Despite winning at the weekend, Newcastle look as though they are going to need another inspired January transfer window to ensure that they remain in the Premier League beyond this season.
Unfortunately, Rafa Benitez has had to rely on a number of bargain deals during his time at St James’ Park. And the Toon Army would be forgiven for fearing whether Benitez can continue to produce the goods when he has a restricted budget – especially after what looks set to be considered an underwhelming summer.
But one player that could help make January a game-changing month for Newcastle could be Ander Herrera should the Magpies decide to make an ambitious move for the midfielder.

The 29-year-old has been more of a peripheral figure at Old Trafford this season, but Benitez should seriously consider adding the Spaniard to his wishlist in the hope of being able to convince him to join the Magpies.
Herrera is unlikely to want to make the switch to join a relegation-threatened side, but perhaps if Newcastle consider offering a lucrative deal that also includes a relegation buy-out clause, there is a chance that they could pull off what would be a fantastic move.

He is a player that would unquestionably improve Newcastle’s midfield and improve their chances of staying up. And his asking price should enable Newcastle to make further signings in the window as well.
It is an ambitious move, but given his price-tag, it is surely one option that Newcastle must not ignore when they consider potential targets.
