The transfer window is in full flow, and every single day we’re seeing new rumours emerge about some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

However, as we all know, we live in the era of misinformation and speculation, and not all of these rumours are reliable.

With that in mind, we’re going to take a look at some of the day’s biggest transfer rumours and evaluate just how likely they are to happen, taking into account a number of factors including the source of the rumour, how realistic the transfer is, the pricetag and whether or not the player is needed at the club.

Here’s what we make of Tuesday’s most notable transfer stories.

Luis Sinisterra to Leeds – 9/10

This one seems to be moving very quickly, and, in our view, it’s likely to happen at this point.

The ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has stated that it’s close. At £21m it’s a very affordable deal for Leeds, and with Raphinha seemingly on his way out of Elland Road, the Whites could certainly do with a new South American winger who is full of flair.

We’re not giving this one a 10/10. After all, Fabrizio Romano has been wrong before and a bigger club could come in for Sinisterra late on, but it wouldn’t surprise us at all if the Colombian joined Leeds soon.

Jesse Lingard to West Ham – 9/10

This one has been in the pipeline for over a year now, and it seems as though we’re finally drawing towards the inevitable conclusion of this saga.

According to an article penned in The Mail by the reliable Simon Jones, Lingard is ready to sign for West Ham after his Manchester United contract expired, and, of course, there is plenty of interest on the Hammers’ end after a remarkable loan spell in 2020.

This transfer has been on the cards for months, and now, it looks like it will finally happen.

Gabriel Barbosa to Newcastle – 5/10

According to The Chronicle, Gabriel Barbosa is keen on a move to Newcastle, but we are very wary of any story surrounding the Brazilian striker.

Indeed, Gabigol has been linked with a move to the Premier League more times than we’ve had hot dinners, and, as of yet, not a single one of these links have come to anything.

This one ranks lowly due to that fact, but the 5/10 rating is maintained due to the Brazilian contingent that is currently being built at St James’ Park and Barbosa would be a good fit in that regard.

Moussa Niakhate to Nottingham Forest – 10/10

This one seems to be all-but done.

According to both The Mail and The Athletic, the centre-back is set for a medical at Forest and barring any late twists, the Mainz defender will be joining the East Midlands outfit in the coming days.

Of course, a failed medical could derail the whole thing, but in this day and age, failed medicals happen once in a blue moon.

We can fairly confidently say that Niakhate will be joining Forest.

Armando Broja to Everton – 7/10

Armando Broja is one of the most in-demand attackers in the Premier League right now with Southampton, West Ham and Everton all on his tail.

Everton seem to now be leading this race with The Athletic stating that the Toffees have made an approach for Broja, and given Frank Lampard’s obvious Chelsea connections, this one could move swiftly.

Given the fact that Richarlison has departed for Tottenham, this would be one that makes sense, but with Everton’s financial problems and interest from elsewhere, we can’t rate this higher than a 7/10.
