Martin Dubravka has been a huge hit at Newcastle United since his loan move from Sparta Prague in the January transfer window, and one should not be surprised if the Magpies decide to make his deal permanent in the summer transfer window.

According to ChronicleLive, Newcastle have the option to sign Dubravka on a permanent contract for a transfer fee of £4.2 million.

The Magpies, though, could face competition for the services of the 29-year-old goalkeeper, with Serie A outfit Udinese also reported to be interested in him.

Dubravka, though, has told ChronicleLive that he wants to remain at St. James’ Park beyond the summer, and that will give Rafael Benitez’s side an advantage over Udinese.

Udinese are an established Serie A outfit, but Dubravka has not played for them or had a spell in Italy.

The Slovakia international knows Newcastle and the Premier League, and given his intention to carry on playing for Rafael Benitez’s side, the 29-year-old could be convinced to remain at St. James’ Park, providing the Magpies do not get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
