Allan Saint-Maximin has got some Newcastle United fans talking on Twitter.

It was reported by The Express that the Premier League had authorised Saudi Public Investment Fund’s £300 million takeover of the Magpies following a lengthy delay.

And the Newcastle star ‘liked’ a post on Twitter which referenced that very same report.

What does it mean?

Well, by virtue of the fact that he’s a Newcastle player, the Frenchman is more likely to have privileged information regarding the takeover.

And ‘liking’ the tweet could be his way of backing up the story.

Then again, it isn’t unthinkable that the Newcastle players wouldn’t have that much more knowledge of what’s happening than the media, so equally Saint-Maximin might’ve just ‘liked’ the post because he wants it to happen.

Either way, it does seem like it’s going to finally happen.

Mike Ashley, the current owner at St James’s Park, is something of a villainous figure and has been throughout his 13-year reign.

So removing him and getting new and ambitious owners in one fell swoop would be fantastic for the Newcastle fans.
