Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist Ryan Taylor has been discussing Nayef Aguerd and his potential move to West Ham.
The centre-back has been strongly linked with the Hammers for quite some time now, and everything seemed to be progressing well on that front over the past few weeks.
However, over the past few days there has been some doubt cast over this deal as links to Newcastle began to emerge.
According to Taylor, Newcastle did indeed make a late approach for the defender, but West Ham are going to get this deal over the line with the reporter stating that an announcement could come on Monday.
What’s been said?
Taylor spoke about Aguerd and his move.
“I believe West Ham have now got this one over the line. The medical has taken place today, the second part of it, Newcastle made a late move I believe, but West Ham already had a deal in place, there was panic in the past few days, but an announcement could arrive in the coming days, maybe on Monday,” Taylor said.

Big statement
Beating Newcastle to a signing in this day and age is quite the statement of intent.
The Magpies are the richest club in the world, and they could have offered Aguerd a lot more than West Ham, but it looks like the London club have pipped the Tyneside outfit to the post here.
West Ham have been showing all sorts of ambition in recent years, and it looks as though that is beginning to pay off in the transfer market as they’ve managed to snatch Aguerd away from Newcastle, despite the Magpies’ limitless wealth.
