Newcastle United loanee Sammy Ameobi wants to face Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup.
Newcastle loanee Sammy Ameobi scored a fantastic goal for his current team Bolton Wanderers yesterday, during their 3-2 FA Cup second round win over Sheffield United, and declared his desire to draw Sunderland in the third round, when speaking to the media after the game, and quoted via Bolton News.
The 24-year-old made the move to Bolton from St James’ Park on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day in the summer, and the winger has gone on to score three goals for the Trotters.

Ameobi spoke to the media in the wake of his side’s FA Cup second round win, and was in bullish mood, sharing his wish to draw his parent club’s bitter rivals Sunderland in the next round of the competition, as quoted by Bolton News:
“Anyone but Newcastle, please. I’d take Sunderland. They’d be perfect. I’d take that. I’d like to get a home fixture for the fans. Bolton have done so well in the FA Cup in the past it would be great to go on another run.”

Bolton endured a miserable campaign in the Championship last term that eventually culminated in their relegation to League One.
They are in good shape this season, however, and currently sit in second position in the table, four points behind league leaders Scunthorpe, and Ameobi has been a key figure during their impressive run of 11 wins in their last 13 games in all competitions.
