Newcastle loanee is expected to sign for Marseille permanently.
Florian Thauvin
Florian Thauvin was a big disappointment for Newcastle United in his season at the club, departing on loan without seeing out a full campaign.
His only experience playing under Rafa Benitez came in pre-season before he returned to Marseille on loan again.
Thauvin’s spell there has had it’s up and downs – right now he is at arguably it’s highest point.
After a terrific month, Thauvin has won a vote to clinch the March player of the month award, L’Equipe was reported.
Thauvin amassed more than half the vote, finishing ahead of Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, who The Star claim is valued by the club at a staggering £130 million.

The Newcastle loanee netted three goals and provided two assists in March to help Marseille climb back up to sixth place.
There is little prospect of Thauvin ever playing in a Newcastle shirt again though despite his exploits.
Speaking to SkySports last month the Frenchman said there is ‘no doubt’ he will be at Marseille next season.
