Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has cut a frustrated figure during his time at St. James’ Park when it comes to the transfer window, as owner Mike Ashley continues to limit his transfer budgets and ability to sign players.
The Toon have only made one signing this summer, in the form of a permanent deal for Martin Dubravka. But in the last few days, Newcastle fans will have been given reason to get excited.
The Brazilian scored two goals and turned provider another two occasions, pushing the Toon towards their tenth-placed finish in England’s top division. It is believed he has told Newcastle he wants to rejoin Benitez’s side.
Kenedy is not the only exciting, potential signing in the pipeline, with The Toon also being linked with a move to sign Portugal international Bruno Fernandes – though they face plenty of competition.
Fernandes is one of the players that got caught up in the training ground attack at Sporting Lisbon and has since reportedly requested the termination of his contract. A Bola claim West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle, Atletico and Monaco are keen.

Benitez would be pulling off two masterstrokes if Kenedy and Fernandes are in black and white stripes during the 2018-19 campaign, and certainly a partnership between the duo would take Newcastle to the next level.
With aspirations of a top-half finish, Kenedy and Fernandes are huge improvements on the likes of Matt Ritchie and Ayoze Perez and would if the duo connect well, a place in the top 10 is more than achievable.
