Newcastle United’s big takeover still hasn’t gone through, which means rumours about potential additions have somewhat slowed down.
The Magpies will hope that the Saudi-led consortium can get their £300million deal over the line, and spark a bright new era at St James’ Park.
A host of players have been linked with Newcastle, and the same goes for managers. Mauricio Pochettino, Rafael Benitez and more have been touted for moves to Tyneside.
A fascinating name was put forward by Guillem Balague; he claimed last month that Newcastle would like to land RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann.
He added that Nagelsmann was happy at Leipzig, having only joined them last summer. Ultimately, a move to Newcastle was considered highly unlikely.
Nagelsmann has RB Leipzig into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and sitting third in the Bundesliga. The 32-year-old is one of the top young coaches in Europe, and even though Leipzig are set to sell Timo Werner, there is still plenty of ambition at the club.

Now, Nagelsmann appears to have ruled out a move to Newcastle once and for all. Speaking to Sport1, Nagelsmann has committed his future to Leipzig.
“I have three years left on my contract, and it doesn’t include an exit clause,” said Nagelsmann. “I came here to follow a path of personal growth and development. I deliberately didn’t reach for the highest shelf when I moved on.”
“We want to take the club to the next level and achieve our goals. Whether we can do enough to win titles will be up to me, the club and the team. No club have called me. They don’t even have my number,” he added, as translated by Buli News, leaving Newcastle’s potential owners to look elsewhere.
