Cody Drameh now looks set to leave Leeds United this summer but an exit route to Newcastle United appears to be closed now.

That is according to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, who claim that Drameh will be on the move.

It’s stated that noises from Drameh’s camp are that a permanent move is expected this summer.

Drameh is currently out on loan at Championship side Luton Town and could yet help the Hatters win promotion to the Premier League.

That loan move doesn’t have a permanent option included but Luton would surely be interested if they do go up.

Drameh joined Leeds from Fulham back in 2020 and was tipped for a big future at Elland Road.

However, Drameh has only managed eight first-team appearances for Leeds with four in the Premier League.

Despite shining on loan at Cardiff City, Drameh didn’t get his big chance at Leeds and even saw a new right back arrive in Rasmus Kristensen.

Drameh has seemingly had enough and is now keen to leave Leeds for good at the end of the season.

Newcastle United move surely not possible for Cody Drameh now

Drameh will surely have a number of suitors, especially having played so well on loan at Luton this year.

One club who had been interested in Drameh was Newcastle United.

The Magpies wanted to land a young right back to develop behind Kieran Trippier.

The Athletic reported in January that Newcastle were keen on adding Leeds talent Drameh for that role.

However, Newcastle ended up signing Harrison Ashby from West Ham United instead.

Ashby is now seen as the long-term heir to Trippier and Newcastle surely won’t be going for another right back now.

The route to St James’ Park appears to be closed for Drameh, but he is still unlikely to be a Leeds player next season.
