Newcastle want Kristjan Asllani and are now set for a meeting this week as they look to snap up the Empoli midfielder this summer.
The Magpies comfortably secured Premier League survival and are now looking upwards under Eddie Howe.
PIF’s investment means that Newcastle will have plenty of money to spend this summer and that means plenty of rumours too.
A host of names are being linked with Newcastle and a new rumour surrounds Empoli star Asllani.
Newcastle want Kristjan Asllani
Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla has reported that Newcastle are interested in snapping up Asllani this summer.
Pedulla claims that Newcastle are now set for a meeting to try and sign Asllani, which is likely to be held this week.
AC Milan are keen on Asllani and he would like to stay in Italy, but a move to England is now looking like a real possibility.
Newcastle’s push for Asllani also comes just as West Ham United had shown an interest.
Calciomercato reported late in May that West Ham have been looking to sign Asllani to bolster their midfield options.

Asllani, 20, has come up through the Empoli ranks despite being born in Albania rather than Italy.
Asllani’s rise has been so rapid that he has now picked up two caps for Albania’s senior team too.
The central midfielder started 14 Serie A games this past season and added nine substitute appearances, recording one goal and one assist.
Asllani has really caught the eye with Albania’s national team director Edoardo Reja calling him ‘excellent’.
Former Serie A defender Daniele Adani has even called Asllani ‘the best younger player in the league’ over in Italy.
Newcastle may feel that they have unearthed a real gem for the future in Asllani, but beating West Ham to his signature may not be easy this summer.
