HITC understands that Newcastle United are keen on one Nottingham Forest player and are willing to offer Elliot Anderson to get deal done.
Newcastle United are set to be in for a busy summer transfer window, HITC has previously reported that Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is of interest to those at St James’ Park.
Sources have told HITC that the Geordie side, who missed out on European football after Manchester United beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final, are keen on adding an atacking option this summer.
HITC understands that one attacker Newcastle are keen on is former United winger Anthony Elanga.
Newcastle keen on signing Elanga
Sources have confirmed to HITC that Newcastle have offered the East Midlands side midfielder Elliot Anderson in a bid to sign the Swedish winger Elanga.
The Swede has been a success at the City Ground scoring five goals in 39 appearances and Newcastle believe the skilful 22-year old Sweden international can be an ideal addition to their squad.
HITC understands talks are currently ongoing between Forest and Newcastle as they attempt to get a deal done.
As mentioned, since moving to the City Ground, the Swedish winger has become a vital part of the team under Nuno Espirito Santo and Newcastle do like the former United academy graduate.
HITC reported that Liverpool have enquired about the availability of Anthony Gordon so a replacement for the former Everton winger may well be needed for the Magpies this summer.
This would mean Newcastle would like a replacement and sources have told HITC that Elanga is a player that the Geordie side like.
Newcastle enquire over another Forest player
Sources have told HITC that Newcastle also asked about long-term target Gibbs-White but that deal was too expensive for the Geordie side.
Elanga is understood to be a player that Newcastle admire and Eddie Howe’s side are happy to move forward with a deal if they can get the signing done this summer.
During Elanga’s time at Old Trafford, the 22-year-old made 39 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring three times and providing three assists.
