Burnley should consider making a summer swoop for the Newcastle United striker.

Sean Dyche, Manager of Burnley looks on prior to the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Burnley at Selhurst Park on January 13, 2018 in London, England.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche deserves great credit for the job that he has done during his time in charge at Turf Moor, and he will have to work miracles during this summer’s transfer window yet again, if he is to guide his side to another top seven finish in the Premier League table this season.

One particular area where Dyche might want to strengthen is his centre-forward department, considering the fact that the the 36 goals that they scored in the league last season was the worst tally out of the top 14 sides in the division.

The Clarets boss would be wise to add a natural poacher to his ranks this summer, and with this in mind, he should consider a move for Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle, who could be available for around £10 million, according to the Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old joined the Magpies from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £10 million, and he has gone on to score 29 goals in 67 appearances in all competitions.

He is renowned for his excellent finishing, and does most of his best work in and around the 18 yard box.

Gayle’s natural goalscoring instinct would surely help Burnley improve upon the potency of their attacking play.

Newcastle might just be reluctant to sell the forward to a direct Premier League rival, but considering the fact that the Clarets earned around £120 million from finishing seventh in the table last season, according to the Lancashire Telegraph, they should be able to tempt the Toon into doing business.
