Newcastle United, Huddersfield Town and Brighton and Hove Albion all won to set a 12-year high for the combined points total by promoted clubs at this stage of the season.
Between them, Newcastle (14), Huddersfield (12) and Brighton (11) have accumulated 37 points after nine matches.
This is the highest total since the 2005-06 campaign, when Wigan Athletic, West Ham United and Sunderland combined for 39 points.
While Wigan and West Ham secured top-half finishes that season, Sunderland finished bottom of the table with a then record low points tally of 15.
The opening season of the Premier League still sets the standard for promoted teams when Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town collected 44 points from nine matches.
However, Middlesbrough ended up going down that season, which shows that a quick start does not guarantee Premier League safety.
Seventh-place Newcastle are leading the way while Huddersfield and Brighton are sitting pretty in 11th and 12th respectively. But there is plenty of time for that to change.
