The Northern Echo have reported that Newcastle’s ‘recruitment team have been in touch’ with the agents of Eriksen.
Tottenham and Manchester United have held ‘more substantive talks with Eriksen and his agents’, according to the report.
The Times have claimed that Tottenham are ‘quietly confident’ of securing the services of Eriksen on a free transfer this summer.
The 30-year-old Denmark international attacking midfielder spent the second half of the past season at Brentford.

We would be surprised if the attacker joins Newcastle instead of Tottenham.
Eriksen is a former Tottenham player who was a huge success at the North London club.
The playmaker worked with current Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte at Inter Milan and won the Serie A title in 2020-21.
Now, of course, Newcastle are a big club, but Tottenham will play in the Champions League next season and could challenge for the Premier League title in the coming years.
