Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to 90min.

90min are reporting this morning that 21-year-old Chelsea and England international winger Hudson-Odoi is of ‘significant interest’ to Newcastle.

Could Newcastle United sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea?

In our view, Newcastle United are unlikely to be able to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Not on a permanent deal anyway.

Yes, Chelsea have a competitive squad and are well stocked in attack, and the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners also have a new owner now.

However, Hudson-Odoi is only 21 and has come through the Chelsea youth system.

We know that it is tough for academy graduates to play for the Chelsea first team, but Hudson-Odoi has already turned out 72 times in the Premier League for the Blues.

The winger himself may feel that he could still make an impact at Stamford Bridge and establish himself as a regular in manager Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup.

Hudson-Odoi made 11 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea last season.

The 21-year-old, who earns £120,000 per week (SalarySport), scored one goal and provided two assists in those games.
