Bolasie has returned to Everton, after cancelling his Aston Villa loan.
Yannick Bolasie has cancelled his season-long loan spell at Aston Villa this week and has returned to Everton, but The Toffees have reportedly told Bolasie he is not in Marco Silva’s plans – and Newcastle have got to offer an escape route.
The Liverpool Echo have reported that the 29-year-old remains way down the thinking at Goodison Park, and that could see him leave for a second time this season. A loan is possible, as he has only played for Villa this term.
DR Congo international Bolasie has struggled at Everton since his £25million move (Guardian) to Merseyside, managing only 32 appearances and scoring just two goals. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in November 2016.
With Bolasie set to leave, Newcastle have to consider a move for the ex-Bristol City man as Rafa Benitez continues to remain on the lookout for a new winger – along with a left-back, a number 10 and a striker.
Despite his poor form since his move to Everton, it is undoubted that Bolasie has plenty of quality and raw talent. Bags of skills, explosive pace and an eye for goal saw him cost The Toffees £25million.
Newcastle desperately need a winger with Matt Ritchie playing left-back, Christian Atsu falling way below the required standard and Jacob Murphy yet to show why he cost Newcastle £12million in 2017.
Bolasie has huge Premier League experience, clocking up 119 appearances in the top tier of English football. He has scored 11 times at this level, as well as creating 23 more.
He is involved in almost a goal every three games and with Newcastle sitting perilously close to the relegation zone in 17th place, his abaility to create something from nothing is crucial. A loan signing would be perfect for Newcastle.
