The Newcastle United youngster is scoring for fun right now.

Newcastle United have plenty of exciting young players on their books and one of them is enjoying a rich vein of form for the Magpies’ under-23s right now.

While Adam Armstrong is the young Newcastle forward to have generated the most buzz in recent times, 21-year-old Tom Heardman is doing his best not to be left behind.

The striker scored his second hat-trick in two matches earlier this week, as Newcastle ran out 6-0 winners against Bradford City in the Central League Cup group stage.

Those three strikes for Heardman followed his hat-trick against Burnley in a 7-0 friendly win and in this kind of form he will be hoping to excel in 2017.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez

Heardman is some way off a first-team spot at Newcastle but he is certainly doing all the right things to impress his manager Rafa Benitez.

With Armstrong hoping for chances next season and Heardman upping his game it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the exciting Newcastle pair, especially with the likes of Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic ahead of them in the pecking order.
