Newcastle showed excellent spirit to secure a point against West Bromwich Albion.

Newcastle United showed impressive spirit to come from two goals down and secure a 2-2 draw away to West Bromwich Albion last night in a display of resilience that will certainly have pleased manager Rafael Benitez.
The fightback, which was secured courtesy of an effort from Ciaran Clark and an own goal from Jonny Evans, ended a run of four consecutive Premier League defeats for Newcastle and should provide Benitez’s side with an injection of confidence going into their upcoming fixtures.
Benitez is wary that Newcastle must return to winning ways quickly to avoid dropping ever closer towards the relegation zone.
Next up for Newcastle is a challenging trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and a point would certainly be an acceptable result for The Magpies from that fixture.
Following that Newcastle host Leicester City, with Claude Puel’s side posing an attacking threat, as they demonstrated by prevailing past Tottenham Hotspur last night.
Although this will be another difficult game, Newcastle will be especially eager to take all three points and finally return to winning ways.

A home game against Everton then awaits, with former Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce likely to be in charge of the Merseyside club by that point.
Although Allardyce will hope to make a struggling Everton side more resolute defensively, this game represents an inviting opportunity for Newcastle to take all three points.
Newcastle must then travel to face Arsenal and, unless they adopt a defensive approach, it will be difficult for them to take anything from that fixture.

On December 23rd Newcastle are up against West Ham United away and will aim to secure a victory in that fixture against a side that are still finding their feet under David Moyes.
Overall, Newcastle will hope to win at least two of their next five fixtures and will also be aiming to take a point or possibly more against Leicester, with last night’s comeback giving Benitez’s team added belief.
