Fabian Schar is becoming Newcastle United’s best player.

Newcastle United fans on Twitter are worried that Fabian Schar is out-growing the club.
The Switzerland centre-back has arguably been Newcastle’s best player in an otherwise disappointing Premier League season so far.
Schar, a £3 million signing in the summer of 2018 [Sky Sports], underlined his importance to the Magpies with a brilliant performance in the 0-0 draw with Brighton at St James’s Park this past weekend.
In it, the big defender produced a superb goal-line clearance, similar to what he did at Tottenham earlier in the season.
At 27, Schar is entering into the prime of his senior career and some Newcastle supporters are worried that they won’t be able to keep him long term.
The interesting thing about Schar – who is contracted to the club until 2021 – is that he’s a terrific ball-playing defender.
This is good news for Newcastle in the sense that such commodities usually go for big money, but it’s bad news in the sense that there might be a lot of offers coming his way in January.
United’s form is doing no good at all, with Steve Bruce’s side 17th in the Premier League table. Unless there’s a big improvement over the coming months, Schar might not have much incentive to hang around.
